Nostalgia: Relatives
I had an old distant relative who I played cards with once at my Nanny’s house in Cranford, NJ. He drank coffee and smoked while we played “War.” When he got to the end of the cigarette, he dropped it into his coffee and downed the entire cup, butt and all.

Nostalgia: Board games

I used to play the board game, Ghosts, with Nanny (my grandma). It was kind of like checkers, but with plastic ghosts.

I also used to love Fireball Island. Now that was a board game. I remember seeing it on TV or in the Sears Christmas catalog and just begging for it. Not too much fun with just two people, but I used to play it with my friend Mike. It had so many pieces and the game play involved a lot of twists and turns. It also involved rolling marbles that acted as fireballs.
